Skelton Brothers

"Just plain lies"

Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge Margaret Noe exceeded the state sentencing guidelines this morning in giving John Skelton a sentence of 10 to 15 years for the unlawful imprisonment of his three sons who have been missing since Thanksgiving. Judge Noe referred to Skelton's stories as "outrageous" and "deplorable" and called his reports to investigators "just plain lies."

Assistant prosecuting attorney Doug Hartung also ripped into Skelton, looking him in the eye and anticipating the day when he's back in court for more serious charges. More details later. Much later. The session lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. John and the boys' mother, Tanya, both addressed the court.
