Joyce Ann (Clark) Shulters, 80, died Oct. 19, 2020, at Fulton County Health Center.
Joyce was born April 9, 1940, to the late Emma and Carl Clark in Medina Township, Mich.
She graduated from Lyons High School in 1958 and Toledo Beauty Academy in 1960. While she spent many years working with her family at Clark’s Ice Cream Bar, she may have been best remembered for opening and operating Joyce Ann’s Beauty Salon just down the block in Lyons. She was also a long-time member of the Lyons Christian Church.
Her family will remember her as incredibly loving, generous and always laughing. She looked for and found the humor in every situation and always made you feel better for having been around her. If you were around long enough, you could be sure she’d have you involved in a game of cards. Above all, she took the greatest pride in being “Mimi” to her two granddaughters, Brookelyn and Emma Miller. She spent the past several years as a live-in Grandma, and cherished being a part of their daily lives.
Joyce is survived by daughter Nicole (Shulters) Miller; son-in-law Justin Miller; son Kelly Shulters; and grandchildren Brookelyn and Emma Miller and Braden Straw.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jane Damman and Clara Belle (and Pete) Gillespie.
Due to the current pandemic, arrangements are still tentative, with a memorial service likely in the spring to celebrate her life at the time of her birthday.
In lieu of flowers, friends should consider donations to Lyons Christian Church, Morenci Area EMS or Morenci Fire Department.
