Jacob Lantz Clark, 41, of Morenci, Mich., died Sept. 15, 2020, in Cleveland, Ohio, following a heart attack and head injury.
Jacob was born July 4, 1979, in Morenci, the son of Douglass and Harriet (Popejoy) Clark. He graduated from Morenci Area High School in 1998. On Aug. 7, 2004, he married Angela Rayburn in Adrian, Mich.
Jacob was active in high school athletics and was a member of the state finalist football team for two years. He also qualified for state tournaments in wrestling and track. He was a member of the school choir and later was a member of the Morenci Fire Department for two years.
Jacob worked as a truck driver for 21 years and taught his father how to drive a semi. He loved outdoor activities including sports, fishing, camping, go-cart racing and dirt car racing. He also enjoyed building small engines and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jacob is survived sons Jacoby and William, both of Morenci; sisters Delorse (and Ken) Jarzeb of Lake Pleasant, Mich., Cambria Kase of Brighton, Mich., and Barbara (and Johnny) Boone of Wellborn, Fla.; his mother; aunts Grace Popejoy of Wellborn, Hannah Lang of Pittsford, Mich., and Vedetta Crater of Hudson, Mich.; uncle Thomas (and Vickie) Popejoy of Adrian; four nephews and five nieces; in-laws Robert and Diana Somerlott of Santa Claus, Ind., Michael Rayburn of Bryan, Ohio, and Michael and Gerda Sonnenberg of Fayette, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister in infancy.
A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Oct. 16 at Liberty Bible Church, 9080 Market St., Pittsford, Mich. Those attending are urged to wear camouflage as Jacob would have done.
Jacob chose to help others through medical research by becoming an organ donor.
