Ronald James Uyttenhove, 71, of Morenci, Mich., died July 4, 2020, at ProMedica Provincial House in Adrian, Mich.
Ron was born Nov. 16, 1948, in Swanton, Ohio, to Leo and Mary (DeMille) Uyttenhove. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Assumption through the eighth grade, then attended and graduated from Evergreen High School. Ron Married Marilee Fausze and she preceded him in death in 2013. He then married Frances Flanagan in 2018 in Wauseon and she survives.
Ron worked at Silbond in Weston, Mich., for 38 years as a chemical plant operator, retiring in 2014. He loved camping, fishing, fast cars (Corvettes) and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (and Jim) O’Brien, step-daughter, Cassie Flanagan (and Spencer Smith); grandchildren, Kelsey Beroske (and Travis McCarty), Kira Beroske (and Cody McClouty) and James O’Brien (and Slyanne Hall); four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Uyttenhove.
Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Uyttenhove; a sister, Betty Bryan; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Uyttenhove.
Ron wanted his body to be donated to the University of Toledo for medical research. A celebration of life gathering is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 9, 2020, for family and friends, at his granddaughter’s home, 823 N. Summit St., Morenci. Graveside services will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
