Carol J. Stidham, 80, of Morenci, Mich., died June 26, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 20, 1939, in Lyons, Ohio, to Robert and Flossie (Schwen) Russell.
Carol was a homemaker who stayed active in community and family events. She enjoyed sewing and baking for her family. Carol was popular for her popcorn balls with the Morenci trick-or-treaters, and enjoyed any time she could have with her family, especially at Christmas.
In her later years, she enjoyed spending time at her Florida home and being active in that community. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren. She attended Morenci Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Morenci American Legion Post 368, the Morenci Eagles, and the Elks and Moose Lodges in Bradenton, Fla.
Carol is survived by daughters Patricia Brown, Pamela (and Patrick) Clifford, Paula (and Kenneth) Younkin, Peggy Decker (and Roland Parrill), and Penny (and Jeff) Chittenden; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her former husband and the father of her children, Bill Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Beverly Barden, Delite Gillen and Joyce Blair; brothers Raymond Patterson and James Russell; former husband, Ken Stidham; and former son-in-law, Jeff Johnston.
Private funeral services are planned Monday, June 29, at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Morenci, with Pastor Darren Lemmon officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale or a charity of the donor’s choice.
