Helen Alenel (Shaffer) Hoffman, 83, of Percell, Okla., formerly of Morenci, Mich., died April 28, 2020, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren at Sunset Nursing Home in Percell, where she had been a patient.
Helen was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of Friend J. and Margery (Fausey) Shaffer. She married Lewis Hoffman on March 19, 1957, in Angola, Ind., who preceded her in death Aug. 19, 2005.
Helen and Lewis began married life in Prattville, Mich., before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived for 20 years. They moved to Hamilton, Mont., before Helen moved to Percell, Okla., to be near her daughter.
Helen is survived by daughters Robin A. (and Dave) Frankenburg of Percell, and Helen Renee Abbe of Hamilton, Mont.; grandchildren Clayton Scherer of Louisville, Ky., Adrian (and Justin) Hillard of Louisville, and Ryan Abbe of Hamilton; brother, Richard (and Carol) Shaffer of Morenci, Margery Parke of Montpelier, Ohio, Carol Shaffer of Morenci, Dianne (and Harold) Dangler of West Unity, Ohio, and special friend Thomas Thacker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Ronald Hoffman in 2006; sisters Irene Evers, Alice Bailey, Adonna Stewart and Barbara Merillat; and a brother Friend (Bud) Shaffer.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
