Daniel James Valdez, 33, of Defiance, Ohio, died Feb. 4, 2020.
He was born on May 12, 1986, to Danny Valdez and Emily (Hadesh) Kast in Adrian, Mich.
Daniel “D.J.” “Juice” enjoyed watching sports, especially Michigan football, the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers. His greatest passion and talent in life was playing guitar, writing and making music. He shared his gift with all he knew.
Daniel was known to have a heart of gold and made an impact on so many people. He had an infectious smile that lit up the room when he walked in. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went.
Daniel is survived by his father, Danny; stepdad, Tracy Kast; three half-brothers, Matthew and Tim Kast and Aaron Oyervidez; step-grandparents, Gary and Joyce Jackson and Larry and Karen Kast; and his companion, Melissa Clark.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Emily, and his grandparents, Pedro Ramonez Valdez and Hope (Sarabia) Valdez and Emil and Delores Hadesh.
Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Pete Valdez officiating. Burial will be in Riga Cemetery.
