Richard L. Baker, 84, of Morenci, Mich., died Dec. 1, 2019, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio.
Richard was born June 29, 1935, in Adrian, Mich., the son of Floyd and Helen (Tew) Baker. He married Sharon J. Jacobsen on June 30, 1957, and she preceded him in death Jan. 28 1984. He married Beatrice E. Stites on Oct. 6, 1984, and she preceded him in death Feb. 23, 1998. He then he married Marlene R. Baker on Oct. 15, 1998, and she preceded him in death July 2, 2018.
Richard was a graduate of Morenci High School and he attend Adrian College before serving in the United States Navy. Richard worked for the United States Postal Service as a truck driver for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Morenci American Legion and the Morenci United Methodist Church. He was best known for telling a good joke and his family says he could just talk and talk.
Richard is survived by son Steven (and Teresa) Baker of Everett, Wash; daughters Melanie Garrett of Sacramento, Calif., and Teri (and Larry) Minaker of Lynnwood, Wash.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother Keith Baker of Sacramento.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; and his sister, Dawn (and Earl) Nisbett of Florida.
Graveside services are planned at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Medina Cemetery, Medina Township, Mich., with Pastor Donna Galloway, officiating. There will be no public visitation.
