Mary Gessner, 66, of Morenci, Mich., died Sept. 28, 2019, at New Beginnings Adult Foster Care in Morenci.
Mary was born Feb. 9, 1953, in Monroe, Mich., to Mary E. (Bazick) and Robert G. Gessner, Sr. She grew up with five lively brothers and two caring sisters in Avalon Beach and began at age 13 to get to know neighbors when she started selling garden seeds door-to-door. Mary was known as gentle, cheerful and outgoing.
She is survived by brothers Robert G. (and Lynnell) Gessner II of Monroe, Mark Gessner of Toledo, and Richard D. Gessner of Monroe; a sister, Jean M. (and Joseph, Sr.) La Roy of Erie, Mich.
Mary also gave birth to a son in Jackson, Mich., in 1974, whom she heart-brokenly gave up for adoption after he was born. His whereabouts in not known.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Michael and James; a sister, Beth Ann; and sister-in-law, Kathy.
