Carol Jean Clark, 76, of rural Fayette, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, Ohio.
She was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Veryl and Wilma (Cottrell) Mattern.
Carol was a 1961 graduate of Waldron Area Schools. She was employed as a nurse’s aid in Hillsdale and worked as a laborer at Dana Corporation. She enjoyed traveling, baking and especially camping.
She is survived by her partner of 30 years, Joe Grime; three children, Cynthia (and Steve) Rahm of Marietta, Ga., Alesia Trisel (and her fiancé, Jeff Kaiser) of Bryan, Ohio, and Bruce Clark of Bryan; a sister, Darlene Sherman of Arizona; five grandchildren, Chase (and Carla) Rahm, Tyler (and Andrea) Rahm, Emily Rahm, Dalton Trisel, and Shelby (and Jared) Degroff; and eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Peyton, Tinlee, Aiden, Hunter, Weston, Cameron and Owen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Edward Mattern.
Funeral services are planned at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci, with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Visitation will proceed the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cremation will follow, and burial of her remains will be made in the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
