Eleanor Irene Myers, 97, of Fayette, Ohio, died March 21, 2019, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Fulton County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Marzolf) Morningstar. She married Donald Myers on Aug. 25, 1940, in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death May 1, 1985.
Eleanor attended Pettisville High School and was a life-long homemaker and a dedicated Christian. She was known around the community for her fabulous flower beds, and she enjoyed many crafts including painting, sewing, crocheting and refinishing furniture. She was known as a wonderful housekeeper who desired to live a healthy life and she loved caring for her grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by two sons, Lee (and Beth) Myers of Chesapeake, Va., and Jim (and Nancy) Myers of rural Fayette; a daughter, Diane Martenies of Wauseon, Ohio; a brother, Loren Morningstar of Archbold; a sister-in-law, Pat Morningstar of Fayette; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Curtis, Jay, Keith, Scott, Brendon, Jolie and Elyse; and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by a brother, Verl Morningstar; her sister, Lorena Babb; and a grandson, Cody Martenies.
Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette. A private funeral service is planned, with burial following in Lauber Hill Cemetery near Archbold.
