Donald Dean Parkhurst, 70, of Morenci, Mich., died Feb. 9, 2019, at Toledo Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1948, in Adrian, Mich., to Lawrence and Katherine Parkhurst.
Donald attended Onsted High School. He married Nancy Parkhurst on Aug. 18, 1989, and she survives.
Don retired from Adrian Steel after many years of service. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing and camping, as well as fixing things and making things work better. He helped many people. He was a member of the Morenci Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by three sons, Jeff (and Tina) Parkhurst of Fayette, Ohio, Jamie Parkhurst of Morenci, and Jerred Parkhurst (and fiancée Heidi Brown) of Lyman, S.C.; a daughter, Shelley (and John) Dawson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren, Lacey Alverez, Joey Alverez and Justin Theobald; three great-grandchildren, Andre, Brina and Logan Alverez; a sister, Sharon (and Tom) Davis of Alvordton, Ohio; a brother, Steven (and Tammy) Parkhurst of Onsted, Mich., and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Parkhurst.
Arrangements have been made for cremation and a celebration of life is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Medina Federated Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the family.
