Robert James Solmonson, 82, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Jan. 9, 2019, surrounded by family and friends.
Robert was raised in Morenci, Mich., and graduated from Morenci High School in 1955. He attended Adrian College where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He played football and ran on the track team.
Bob took a break from college to join the Army for two years as a Supply Clerk, serving time in Uijeongbu, South Korea. Upon his return, he graduated from Adrian College in 1960 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
With his degree in hand, he made his way to Hollywood, Calif., where he met his future wife, Annette, and landed a job at NBC as an accountant and was later asked to join a televised dancing group.
Two children later and with one on the way, he attended night school to obtain his law degree and graduated at the age of 40. He was hired as an immigration attorney, traveling the U.S. with his family in tow.
Annette and Robert retired in Morenci and purchased the Hammontree house where they spent just a few years before they made their way to Zephyrhills, Fla. It was here that they settled down for good making a life of sunshine, friends, reunions and family.
