Carolyn V. Wilsberg, 103, died Dec. 27, 2018, at Brookdale of Adrian (Mich.)under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
She was born Feb. 3, 1915, in Lyons, Ohio, the daughter of John George and Sophia (Buck) Hoefer. Carolyn lived her formative years in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School with the class of 1932. On April 11, 1941, in Lyons, she married Paul “Pat” Avis Wilsberg, and they made their home on East Main Street in Morenci, Mich., where they resided the remainder of their lives.
Carolyn worked for Bank of Lenawee County for more than 24 years until her retirement in 1978. In retirement, she and Pat enjoyed wintering in Florida until Pat’s death in February 1984. Carolyn was a member of the Morenci First United Congregational Church. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, and served as a Worthy Past Matron in 1948 and 1949 for the former Lyons Chapter.
She is survived by a nephew, Paul Fish of Tucson, Ariz.; a niece, Mollie Romanek of Houston, Texas; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite Renner; five brothers, Arthur, Fred, Walter, Harry and Lawrence Hoefer; and a nephew, Richard Hoefer.
Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci, with Pastor Greg Morrison officiating. Visitation is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday for one hour preceding the service. Private burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
