Martin “Jim” Lindeman, 74, of Adrian, Mich., died Dec. 19, 2018, at Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home.
He was born June 22, 1944, to Lester D. and Flossie (Ives) Lindeman at Wolf Lake, Ind. On Aug. 13, 1994, he married Patricia Ebbitt. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2018.
Jim was the owner and operator of Lindeman Oil Company in Morenci from 1972 to 1994. He also owned C & J Carryout east of Fayette, Ohio, for many years. He then drove truck for Dave’s Sand and Gravel in Pettisville, Ohio.
Jim was a member of the Morenci Eagles, the Adrian Moose Lodge, a past member of the Morenci Fire Department and Past Master of Morenci (Mason’s) Lodge 95.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Brenda (and Robert) Dotson of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Barb (and Brad) Brown of Jerome, Mich.; a son, Mark (and Becky) Ries, of Delta, Ohio; three step-daughters, Heather (and Craig Pummell) Walker of Morenci, Dr. Molly (and Darren) Tait of Argyle, Texas, Kate (and Adam) Jurevicius of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a step-son, Gannon (and Jennifer) Barrett of Hastings, Mich.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janet Bowman; a half-brother, Karl Lindeman; a half-sister, Norma Burr; and a step-son, Shane Walker.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, with William Ebbitt officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
