Charles “Chuck” Herbert McMunn, 81, formerly of Conneaut, Ohio, died Dec. 2, 2018, at his home in London, Ohio, after an 11-year battle with multiple myeloma.
Chuck was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Adrian, Mich., the son of Leland and Frances (Ondrovich) McMunn. He was a 1955 graduate of Morenci High School, attended Michigan State University and later served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1961. Chuck worked at RMI in Ashtabula, Ohio, for 40 years as a purchasing agent.
He was a former member of the East Conneaut Methodist Church, a member of the First United Methodist Church in London and the American Legion.
He enjoyed reading, woodworking, time spent with friends and family, and especially helping at his church. Chuck was a former East Conneaut Methodist Church trustee and assisted with building the church on Furnace Road in Conneaut.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norieta McMunn, whom he married June 13, 1959; one son, Todd McMunn of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Colleen (and Jeffrey) Miesse of Galloway, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Gabrielle McMunn and Clay Miesse.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Donald McMunn.
A memorial service is planned at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at First United Methodist Church, 52 N. Main St., London, OH 43140.
