Judith M. Cornell, 74, died Nov. 17, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Judith was born March 9, 1944, in Ameagle, West Virginia, to Arnett and Ella Williams. Upon graduation from Clear Fork High School in 1962, she moved to Morenci, Mich., and began working at Sheller Globe in Wauseon, Ohio, where she continued working for the next 26 years. She married Richard R. Cornell on Aug. 16, 1986, and he preceded her in death in 2004.
In 1998 Judith relocated to northern Michigan just in time for the arrival of her granddaughter, Ciara. Judith loved being a mother but she especially loved being a “Granny.” She and Ciara spent their days chasing butterflies, singing songs and playing on the tree swing. Judith treasured her family and was always there for them to encourage, comfort and provide a good laugh and a special memory. She also enjoyed the company of her dog, Mia.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Hope Haynes; granddaughter Ciara Haynes; three sisters; and six brothers; and nephews Brock and Tony.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions are suggested to Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49202.
