Gordon L. McClain, 60, of Morenci, Mich., died Sept. 21, 2018, following a long period of ailing health.
He was born May 24, 1958, in Hudson, Mich., to the late Murry and Lillian (Bolyard) McClain. He married his longtime companion and love of his life, Melissa (Bailey) Rackliff, at the Morenci Sportsman’s Club on May 25, 2013, and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the Morenci area, Gordon was proud to call himself a farmer and loved working the land. He worked for Wolf Farms for more than 15 years. He enjoyed the outdoor sports of fishing and hunting, as well as rides on his 3-wheelers and motorcycles. Family was most important to Gordon.
In addition to his wife, Gordon is survived by three children, Sarah Bain of Troy, Ohio, Michelle (and Dave) Kerekgyarto of Blissfield, Mich., and Fawn (and Justin) Peckham of Climax, Mich.; nine siblings, Steve (and Darlene) McClain of Jasper, Mich., John (and Diane) McClain of Adrian, Mich., Delbert (and Trulla) McClain of Morenci, Elvis (and Shannon) McClain of Morenci, Delaina (and Terry) Huffman of Pioneer, Ohio, Michael McClain of Morenci, Patricia (and Kirk) Arquette of Morenci, Lloyd McClain (and Lara Wyse) of Hudson, and Chris McClain (and Cindy Schmidt) of Morenci; five grandchildren, Anthony and Kiarra Haskins, Aaden Bressette, Isaiah and Evelyn Kerekgyarto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Rackliff, in May 2016.
Funeral services are planned at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci, with Wess Wolf officiating. Cremation will follow and burial will take place at a later date in Packard Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
Memorial contributions can be given to Gordon’s family to aid with final expenses.
