Sharon E. Fidler, 68, of rural Waldron, Mich., died Aug. 2, 2018, at home surrounded by her family and caregivers after a long battle with cancer.
Sharon was born Jan. 6, 1950, in Morenci, Mich., the daughter of Max Munk and the late Eris M. (Kishpaugh) Munk.
She was a 1968 graduate of Hudson High School and furthered her learning at the Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music. She married the love of her life, Tommy Fidler, on March 23, 1974, in Prattville, Mich., and he survives.
Sharon lovingly raised her children and proudly schooled them at home. She later worked for 10 years as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office in Jasper, Mich. She was a longtime member of the Prattville Community Church. An artist of many talents, she enjoyed expressing her skills of quilting, painting, cross-stitching, crocheting and entertaining with music on the piano. She also enjoyed capturing cherished memories in scrapbook albums that will forever serve as family keepsakes.
In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her father, Max Munk of Hudson; three children, Nathan (and Sommer) Fidler of Fairplay, Col., Jonathan (and Joy) Fidler of Wolverine, Mich., and Amy (and Terry) Mann of Sutherlin, Ore.; two sisters, Karen (and Fred) Sherlock of Muskegon, Mich. and Susan Mattice of Germany; eight grandchildren, Eli, Esther, Max, Molly, Lucy, Taylor, Emma and Sawyer; a sister-in-law, Nancy Munk of Haslett, Mich.; her mother-in-law, Norma Fidler of Waldron; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Munk, and father-in-law, James Fidler.
Visitation is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at the Prattville Community Church in Prattville, with Pastor Gary Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Prattville Cemetery.
