Robert “Bob” Allen Fay, 78, of Adrian, Mich., died peacefully at his home July 28, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1940, in Adrian to Glenn and Geraldine (May) Fay. Upon the death of his father, Bob’s mother remarried James White who became a second father to Bob.
On Jan. 7, 1959, in Wauseon, Ohio, he married Sally Kast and she survives. Bob worked as an electrician for Local Union #8 IBEW and Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2003. He was a born-again Christian, past president of the Amateur Radio Club, DXpeditioner and county hunter, bird watcher, aka “Mayor of the Magee Marsh Boardwalk,” and Scout Cubmaster (Prairie School). He loved to eat, tracing his family ancestry through genealogy all the way back to c.595, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
In addition to his wife Sally, Bob is survived by two sons, Gregg (and Cindy) Fay of Adrian and Ricky Fay of Saline, Mich.; daughter, Glenda (and Bruce) Jones of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Sharon (and Cris) Fuentes of Las Cruses, N.M.; step-brother, James (and Sharon) White of Addison, Mich.; step-sister, Jannetta (and Tom) Dilyard of Archbold, Ohio; aunt, Lorraine May of Adrian; six grandchildren, Matthew (and Erin) Fay, Danielle (and Ryan) Alltaffer, Natali Fay, Katelyn Jones, Derek (and Lindsie) Jones, and Danielle (and Justin) Callahan; and nine great-grandchildren, Ellison, Carter, Ava, Blake, Kadence, Liam, Ivy, Willow and River.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Lisa Fay.
Visitation is planned from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Winstead officiating. Cremation will follow. A private burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
