Barbara Jean Smith Creek, 81, of Montpelier, Ohio, died June 3, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Barbara was born April 14, 1937, in Fayette, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Mary Ellen (Ford) Smith. She married Norman L. Creek on June 4, 1955, in Fayette and he survives.
Barbara worked for Sauder Manufacturing Co. in the quality control department for 15 years. Prior to that, she served as a line operator for the telephone company.
She was an ordained minister of the Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barbara enjoyed playing computer games, reading, camping, being outdoors in general and flower gardening. She truly treasured the time she could spend with her husband and family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Kevin (and Denise) Creek of Orlando, Fla., Roxanna Draggoo of Fremont, Ind., Lonnie (and Cindy) Creek of Montpelier, and Renee (and Tracy) Egolf of Larwill, Ind.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Danny (and Jill) Smith of Fayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, West Unity, Ohio, where a Daughters of the American Revolution service will begin at 7:45 p.m. Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, in the funeral home, with Pastor Nick Woodall officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
