John M. “Mack” Dickson, Jr., 64, of Fayette, Ohio, died May 7, 2018, at Hospice of NW Ohio, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 20, 1953, in Westfield, N.Y., to John M. and Sarah (Brumagin) Dickson, Sr. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Miami of Ohio. On July 24, 2004, in Ohio, he married Annette E. Nichols and she survives.
From an early age, Mack had an entrepreneurial spirit about him. He was the general manager of a Bob Evans restaurant and then he and his partners owned and operated restaurants including Rally’s and Big Boy in Adrian. In his free time, he loved to golf and was an avid reader.
In addition to his wife, Annette, Mack is survived by his children, Natalie (and Amy) Blackburn of Columbus, Ohio, Henry “Hank” Dickson of Elyria, Ohio, and Melissa Dickson of Pennsylvania; step-children, Christopher Rhoden of Mishawaka, Ind., Nathaniel (and Charlotte) Rhoden of Granger, Ind., and Ryan (and Laura) Nichols of Osceola, Ind.; brother, Tim (and Nancy) Dickson of Pinehurst, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is planned at 3 p.m. Monday, May 14, with visitation scheduled from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian.
