Harold James “Jim” Solomonson, 69, of Lowell, Mich., died unexpectedly at home May 3, 2018.
Jim was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Morenci, Mich., the son of the late Harold and Myrtle (Barron) Solomonson.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Morenci Area Schools, and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Dura Corporation in Adrian for more than 30 years, where he retired in 2008. Jim moved to Lowell upon retirement to be closer to his son and grandsons. He was very supportive in their sports and enjoyed watching them. A lover of the outdoors, Jim was an avid softball player, and and a true fan of University of Michigan sports as well as NASCAR racing.
Jim is survived by his son, Chad (and Candace) Solomonson of Lowell; his sister, Shirley Hyland of Brooklyn, Mich; and two grandchildren, Sage and Cade.
A Celebration of Life service is planned at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Morenci American Legion Post 368.
Arrangements were handled by Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci.
