Mary Lee Cummins, 76, of Alvordton, Ohio, died March 9, 2018, at the CHP Inpatient Hospice in Defiance, Ohio.
Mary was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Canandaigua, Mich., the daughter of the late Homer Leroy and Aura Edeth (Paulsen) McCarty.
Mary was a graduate of Morenci Area Schools. While she primarily served her family as a loving homemaker, she was also a skilled laborer and worked at various factories, including Globe Wyse. She currently attended the Olive Branch Christian Union Church. Mary enjoyed flowers, traveling and baking—especially pies. Active in her family life, she liked to support her nieces and nephews in sporting events and band concerts.
On March 19, 1993, Mary married Marlin G. Cummins at the Clayton Bible Church, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her sisters, Dixie (McCarty) Baldwin of Wauseon and Diane (and Marty) Wagner of Morenci; sister-in-law, Shirley McCarty of Adrian, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Dean Crisler of Adrian and Lowell (and Linda) Cummins of Pioneer, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dick (and Marge) McCarty, Donald (and Lori) McCarty, Dale (and Pat) McCarty, Dan McCarty, Dwight (and Joanie) McCarty, and Dock (and Wilma) McCarty; sisters, Betty Crisler, Marjorie (and Junior) Smith, and Barbara (and John) Lower; nephews, Jeff Smith, Robert Smith, Danny McCarty and Todd McCarty; and niece, Jenna McCance.
Visitation is planned from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Walter Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
