Roger O. McNett, 68, of Clayton, Mich., died Feb. 12, 2018, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home in Adrian, Mich.
Roger was born in Adrian on March 20, 1949, the son of the late Audrey (Turner) and Robert McNett, Sr. He married the love of his life, Linda M. Grant, on July 13, 1968, and she survives. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this July.
Roger was a 1967 graduate of Hudson Area Schools and was employed as a tool and die maker. He served as a Boy Scout leader in Adrian and was a man of faith who enjoyed reading and studying scripture. After retirement, he enjoyed custom woodworking, especially making cedar chests for his granddaughter and nieces. Other hobbies included small and large engine repair and taxi driving for the Amish. He received many awards for speed shooting pistols.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by three sons, William McNett of Adrian, Nathan (and Samantha) McNett of Hudson, and Joshua McNett and Kelly Neuenschwander of Adrian; two brothers, Robert (and Linda) McNett, Jr., of Hudson and Chuck (and Denise) McNett of Clayton; nine grandchildren, LaTeisha (and Jason Hibbs) McNett, Avery, Natalie and Cameron Dickerson, Austin Pitock, Sarah McMillan, Corbin McNett, Derek Windish and Jaxon McNett; two great-grandchildren, Allizelle McNett and Jaylah Hibbs; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Gayle and Timothy McNett.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson, with Pastor Darren Lemmon officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and burial will follow at a later date in the Medina Cemetery.
