Ronald Lee Rettle, 73, of rural Fayette, Ohio, died Nov. 16, 2017, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Care Center near Defiance, Ohio.
Ronald was born in Morenci, Mich., on Dec. 19, 1943, the son of the late John and the late Helen (Nyari) Rettle.
Prior to his retirement he had been a lifelong area farmer and had also worked at various local factories.
He enjoyed bowling, demolition derbies, and Oakshade Raceway, and was also a member of the Morenci Eagles. He was a huge John Deere and Ford fan.
Ronald is survived by daughters Shelley Chittenden and Kathy (and Jim) Bussing; grandchildren Zach (and Sydney) Chittenden, Maegan Chittenden and Cherese Bussing; a great-grandson, Jaxson Chittenden; sisters Dorma Eberly and Cheryl Ballmer; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Judy Rettle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Steve and Erma Schultz and John and Barbara Nyari; a brother, John Rettle, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Rick Ballmer; and a son-in-law, James Chittenden.
A celebration of life is planned at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Morenci Eagles. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Morenci Area EMS or the Defiance Area Inpatient Care Center.
