Ellen J. Wilson, 87, of rural Morenci, Mich., died Sept. 10, 2017, at Provincial House in Adrian, Mich.
She was born April 6, 1930, in Lenawee County, to the late William and Wilhelmina “Mamie” (Powelke) Kruse.
Ellen was a lifelong Morenci area resident and worked more than 31 years at Morenci Rubber Products. She had a passion and talent for upholstering furniture, and for several years participated in stock car racing. Later in life she enjoyed word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, baking, and watching westerns on television.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle McClue (and Tracy Eineder) of Morenci; three sons, Randy (and Rose) Wilson of Paulding, Ohio, Rick Wilson of Morenci, and Mike (and Stacy) Wilson of Morenci; a sister, Marie Plummer of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Carl (and Wanda) Kruse of Morenci and William (and Jane) Kruse of Morenci; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jean Kruse of Adrian.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by a son, David Wilson; two grandchildren, Matthew and Brandon Wilson; two sisters, Emma Johnston and Bessie Yenor; a brother, John Kruse; a son-in-law, Larry McClue; and her late husband, I.C. Wilson.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci, with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Private burial will take place in Porter (Packard) Cemetery in Seneca Township. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
