Betty Jo Davis, 73, formerly of Fayette, Ohio, died Sept. 3, 2017, at The Laurels of Defiance.
She was born Oct. 13, 1943, the daughter of the late Deloss and Helen (Glaser) Maginn.
A graduate of Gorham Fayette High School, Betty lived the majority of her life in Fayette and formerly worked as a telephone operator for GTE. She was a member of the Fayette United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Fulton Chapter 67 in Wauseon, Ohio.
Betty was known as a social butterfly and was most content being in the company of others. She was very particular about her appearance, and prided herself in coordinating her style and look from head to toe.
Betty is survived by her son, Robert Davis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Sue (and Kurt) Heiland of Ruskin, Fla., and Margie “Maggie” Maginn of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a brother, John (and Vicki) Maginn of Fayette; a granddaughter, Annie Davis of Defiance, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Beverly Maginn of Ruskin, Fla.; and a brother-in-law, Robert Powers of Havana, Ill.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by three siblings, Donald Maginn, Bonnie Powers and Charles Maginn.
Funeral services are planned at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, with Pastor Andrea Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday for two hours preceding the service.
