She was born in the family farmhouse in rural Wauseon on Dec. 13, 1931, to Clair and Theola (Ziegler) Pennington.

She lived the past 25 years at Lynwood Manor, where she was treated with compassion by the staff. She attended Bethany Assembly of God Church with the assistance of the bus ministry, and she dearly loved her church caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private graveside services for Doris are planned Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Tedrow Cemetery, with Rev. Dusty Paukin of the Morenci Church of the Nazarene officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Local arrangements were handled by Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci.
