Gregory W. Grover, 64, of Jasper, Mich., died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., due to complications resulting from a fall.
Greg was born in Bainbridge, Md., April 19, 1945, the oldest child of Dr. William and Geraldine (Morris) Grover. During the Viet Nam War, he served as a surgical corpsman in the Army. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cleveland State and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo.
As an attorney, Greg practiced in Fayette, Ohio, Morenci, Mich., and most recently, Adrian, Mich. He served as the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Lenawee County for 15 years.
Greg was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Adrian. In addition to practicing law, Greg served as the pastor of Raisin Presbyterian Church in Holloway.
In addition to Patricia, his wife of 35 years, Greg is survived by a son, Geoffrey W. Grover of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a brother, James (and Jane) Grover of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and two sisters, Cyndy (and Tim) Goodman of Gresham, Ore.; and Carol (and Patrick) Ramnarine of New Hall, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is planned at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Adrian College Chapel, with Rev. James Splitt and Rev. Kathleen Splitt officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16 at Wagley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church Adrian, Raisin Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or the Delta Public Library.
