Noelle Martell joins Morenci school staff 2015.08.26

martell.noelleThere’s no place better than a middle school science classroom, says veteran teacher Noelle Martell, so Morenci’s newest teacher should feel right at home when classes begin Sept. 8.

Ms. Martell was born in Akron, Ohio, and raised in Naples, Fla., but she’s spent the majority of her adult life in Michigan. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Covenant College in Tennessee and taught in Naples for three years before taking a job with Lenawee Christian School. That’s where she’s taught for the last 25 years.

“I’m really excited and looking forward to teaching in Morenci,” she said. “I love small town school districts and their community schools.”

She learned about the support that Morenci fans show their athletes from attending sporting events over the years.

She also looks forward to becoming part of that supportive community. Although she lives in Adrian and helps care for her parents, she knows the school day won’t end at 3:30—especially with football games to watch and band concerts to attend.

“I think it’s important to be part of the kids’ lives and I would like to attend as many events as possible,” she said.

Ms. Martell has also served as a volleyball, softball and basketball coach during her career.
