The Lenawee County Sheriff's Department is still awaiting a report from the county medical examiner regarding the death of Morenci resident Glenwood "Curly" Girdham.
A mail carrier was concerned about the welfare of Girdham when she saw that his sidewalk remained unshoveled and his mail was still in the mailbox. She noticed that the front door was not shut tightly and she called Morenci police to check on Girdham's well-being. He was found dead in his home.
Morenci's interim police chief, Ryan Hillard, stated that medical reports determining cause of death often take a month at a minimum.
Girdham was well-known as a handyman and was often spotted on top of houses engaged in roofing work. A bicycle was his means of transportation and poetry was often his means of expression.
