The Morenci Garden Club met Nov. 16, at the Congregational Church. Co-hostesses for the meeting were Jo Erbskorn and Mary Johnson.
Kym Ries gave a Power-Point presentation on decorated gourds. Instructions were given on how to clean gourds and prepare them for decorating or creating bird houses. Sandy and Duane Wheeler drilled holes in gourds donated by Tom Valentine, and each member was offered gourds to take home.
Club members chose Bean Creek Garden Center’s bid of $975 for the downtown hanging baskets. The baskets will include bubblegum supertunia, snow princess lobularia and sweet potato vine.
A field trip is planned Dec. 11 to the Manor House at Wildwood Preserve in Toledo, which is decorated for the holidays. Those attending the trip should meet behind city hall at 10 a.m. Dec. 11. The group will also stop for lunch.
