There’s likely to be a lot of new computers under Christmas trees this week, but what to do with the old equipment they’re replacing?
Goodwill of Lenawee County is working with the City of Morenci to provide the answer: Take computers, monitors, printers and other related equipment to the city’s recycling center.
Goodwill Industries of Michigan and the Dell Corporation started a partnership a few years ago to recycle components from computers—an effort that keeps many materials out of landfills and provides jobs for workers with disabilities. The project also earns cash for Goodwill.
A large collection box is now specified for computer equipment at the recycling center.
The center is normally open Mondays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 to 6 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
