George Isobar has a confession to make. In last week’s Observer, he shorted the total on the big snowstorm the previous weekend.
“It’s true that Sunday’s snowfall measured 9.5 inches, as reported,” he said, “but there was also 2.2 inches that fell Saturday night and was measured Sunday morning. So the total for the storm was 11.7 inches.”
There was already an inch on the ground before the storm got underway, he added, making the total depth close to 14 inches, on the average.
