Marguerite Eleanor Shaffer, 91, of Napoleon, Ohio, and formerly of Fayette, died Feb. 2, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.
She was born March 8, 1920, in Morenci, Mich., to the late John Harley and Coral Fern (Huyck) Bringman.
Marguerite was a member of the Olive Branch Christian Union Church.
She is survived by four children, Rosalie Ashenfelter of Napoleon, Donald (and Geraldine) Shaffer of Alvordton, Ohio, Barbara (and Mike) Wesley of Napoleon, and Loren (and Terri) Shaffer of Wauseon, Ohio; siblings, Donald (and Dortha) Bringman, Dorothy McKitterick, Alvin (and Nancy) Bringman, and Ruth Gay; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Nelson Lorn Shaffer, and three siblings, Alice Gibler, Kenneth Bringman and Nina Covey.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Pastor Joe Redmond officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
