[another old transfer]
One of my Summit Street neighbors was working on the pitching mound 20 years ago. I just saw this photo when doing the Decade Review for the week.
I saw his mother at the Post Office this morning when a few of us were standing in line at the Passport Fair. There must have been a dozen people applying for passports by the time I left at 8:40. It continues until 2 p.m. today.
I don’t have any travel plans, but in the year 2012, passports will be needed to get into Ohio so I thought I might as well get one now.
That reminds me, the mobile Secretary of State office was scheduled for a Morenci visit in May, but it’s been canceled. Too bad, it’s a handy way to obtain a license renewal.
Unless, of course, you’re like one of the other people waiting in line for a passport this morning. He was quite critical of the mobile office, but it was soon obvious that he was the only one there who didn’t see is a great public service. He said something about “Darn Democrats.” I guess he’s suggesting that one party serves the citizens and the other one….
I wonder why he wasn’t complaining about the mobile passport office.
