Larry Eugene Disbrow, 78, of Morenci, Mich., formerly of Clarklake, Mich., died Jan. 3, 2006 at Toledo Hospital after a long illness.

He was born March 30, 1927 in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of Walter and Rosella (Crew) Disbrow. He married Doris Jane Ottmer on May 5, 1956 in Brooklyn, Mich., and she preceded him in death in 1995 after 39 years of marriage.

Larry was a long-time business owner in Brooklyn. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Morenci where he was also chairman of the deaconate. He was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis, Masons, Zouaves and Community Chest.

Larry is survived by one daughter, Patricia; one son, Walter; a special friend and companion, Katherine Wollter; one sister, Geraldine; one brother, David; five granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews and many beloved family members and friends.

Besides his wife, Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.

A celebration of Larry’s life is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Malsack officiating. Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Brooklyn and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Wilber Bartlett Post #315.
