Marilyn Helen Bagley, 84, of Dennison, Ohio, died Aug. 8, 2017, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Born Dec. 15, 1932, in Samaria, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Edson Riley Pratt and Violet Ruth (Corl) Pratt Blanchard.
On May 29, 1948, Marilyn wed the Rev. Vincent Ralph Bagley with whom she enjoyed nearly 63 years of marriage until his death Jan. 27, 2011. A devoted pastor’s wife, she served the Lord alongside her husband in many congregations throughout the Midwest, most recently at Park Christian Church in Dennison. Marilyn enjoyed leading women through the scriptures and mentoring them spiritually. She was also an active Mary Kay consultant for many years.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Pat (and Angelo) DeCarlo of Schaumburg, Il., Michael (and Pam) Bagley of Kaleva, Mich., and Kerrie (and fiancé, Chris Cush) Schaffner of Dennison; grandchildren, Mindy (and Michael) Joyce, Christen (and Steve) Groth, Jillian (and Dave) Perlick, Michael DeCarlo, Eric, Drew and Nicholas Schaffner, Alyssa (and T.J.) Sterzer, and Lianne (and Adam) Schroeder; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a 10-year-old son, Phillip, and an infant son, Timothy; her sister, Melva (and Nelson) Cowdrey, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in the sanctuary of Park Christian Church in Dennison, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Park Christian Church and Community Hospice.
