Kenneth R. Rollins, 82, of Angola, Ind., died May 22, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center’s emergency room in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Royal Oak, Mich., to Lowell and Doris (Cook) Rollins. He married Rita Lamont on May 11, 1962.
Ken was an educator for more than 43 years. He graduated from Siena Heights College in Adrian with a master’s degree in education. He taught, coached and served as middle school principal at Morenci Area Schools. Ken was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Defiance College in 1999. He retired from Hamilton School District where he worked as a counselor.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio, and the Angola Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; a son, Brooks (and Celeste) of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Brigelle (and Rus) Strang of Angola, Ind.; a brother Ron (and Kay) Rollins of Brownsville, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kyra L. Trippe.
Arrangements were made by Weicht Funeral Home in Angola and a private service is planned. Memorials may be made to the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County.
