Douglas C. Dusseau, 67, of Morenci, Mich., went to seed Jan. 24, 2017.
He was born April 6, 1949, the son of Carl and Catherine (LaPointe) Dusseau, who he adored. In 1967 he graduated from Erie Mason High School.
For several years, he was employed as an electrician with Local 8 and Detroit Edison, retiring from the latter in 2006. He was married to Lindy Dusseau whom he loved madly.
Doug was known by many as Fuzzy. He was loved by all who knew him for his kindness, great sense of humor, quick wit and his eagerness to make everyone a sandwich. He could fix just about anything and always enjoyed helping and feeding others. It was common to get lost in a conversation with him or find yourself being serenaded by him.
His obsession with perfection was evident in everything he touched. From his meticulous yard and garden, his incredible cooking, spotless vehicles and everything in between, Fuzzy was perfect. Friends and family considered themselves blessed to know him and would happily wear “TeamFuzzy” shirts and donate to his cause without hesitation; he was one in a million.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Eve (and Jim) Mehallow, Adam Dusseau, Rebecca Dusseau, Cynthia (and Todd) Bush and Steven Dusseau, as well as his bonus children MacTavish (and Michele) McDowell and Molly (and Brian) Shaffer; siblings Debbie Floyd, Joan Simon, Dean Dusseau, Susie Toepfer, Mark Dusseau, Peggy Dusseau and John Dusseau; grandchildren Austin Mehallow, Heidi and Toben Bush, Charlotte and Kaden McDowell, Rowan, Beau and Maryn Shaffer.
A memorial service to celebrate his life is planned at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Congregational Church in Morenci. Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until the service.
Doug thrived and lived with Leiomyosarcoma for 14 years and for this reason the family requests that those wishing to make donations consider LMSdirect Research Foundation, P.O. Box 52697, Tulsa, OK 74152.
