Elaine Marie Benschoter, 72, of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Morenci, Mich., died Nov. 10, 2016, at her home in Fruitland Park.
She was married to Ronald J. Benschoter on Nov. 25, 1995, in Lyons, Ohio.
Elaine was a retired restaurant owner and a bus driver for Evergreen School District. She enjoyed sewing and quilt making, as well as other crafts. She spent time with her husband remodeling homes and selling them. She was very outgoing in her retirement community and was involved in many veteran engagements.
She loved to play cards, Bingo and dominos, as well as other games for entertainment. She traveled back and forth from Morenci to Fruitland Park to enjoy the seasons of each. She had a love for life and spent much of her time going places, enjoying music, dancing, camping, playing games and traveling. She didn't sit still for long and wherever she went people loved her down-to-earth personality.
Elaine is survived by her children Jeff Crowell of Toledo, Ohio, Robin Crowell Scarberry of Westlake, Ohio, John Crowell of Suffolk, Va., and step-daughter Cheryl Benschoter White of Hudson, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Scott Crowell, Chelsea Crowell, Michael Crowell, Kylie Scarberry, Nicole Scarberry, Ethan Scarberry, Jacob Crowell and Lance Crowell; and step-grandchildren Haley White Lambright, William White and Alley White Livingston.
Elaine was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Donald Simon of Delta, Ohio, and Claude Simon of Swanton, Ohio.
Mass is planned at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's of Assumption, Ohio, followed by a burial service at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association.
