Keith Humbert, 85, of Fayette, Ohio, died March 12, 2006, at his home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1920 in Fayette, Ohio, to Galen and Alice (Fieldmire) Humbert and was raised by Dayton and Alice (Humbert) Woolace. He married Juanita Ingall on June 7, 1942 in Chesterfield Township, Ohio, and she survives.

Keith graduated from Fayette High School in 1938. He was a cattle feeder, farmer and astute businessman who participated in and had leadership roles in various farming associations throughout Fulton County and Ohio. He was inducted into the Fulton County Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2004.

He was a member of the Fayette United Methodist Church, Lions Club and Fayette Masonic Lodge. He served on the board of directors for Tiffin Valley Bank and First National Bank of Northwest Ohio for several years. He was very civic oriented in the Fayette community and supported the Fayette Opera House, Fayette Normal Memorial Library, Fayette Community Pool and the youth at the Fulton County Fair. He was a Fayette Board of Education president and board member for several years.

Besides his wife, Keith is survived by two daughters, Jeanne (and Terry) Toth of Tipp City, Ohio, and Janette (and Robert) Yano of Fayette; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Humbert of Fayette; eight grandchildren, Ben Toth, Andy Toth, Robert (and Jody) Yano, Jr., Scott (and Christy) Yano, Chad Yano, Kip (and Kristie) Humbert, Kevin Humbert and Melissa Humbert and 10 great-grandchildren, Kaci, Mykhail, Mykaela and Madilyn Yano, and Storm, Colt, Slayde, Rayce, Braelyn and Benjamin Humbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roger Humbert and a son, Bill Humbert.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Greg Grover officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, Fayette High School Scholarship Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
