Laurence Dale “Larry” Barlow, 76, of Lyons, Ohio, died at his home Aug. 21, 2014, following a long battle with cancer.
Larry was born in Delta, Ohio, on July 1, 1938, the son of Ernest and Violet Rose (Heft) Barlow. On Nov. 17, 1957, he married Shirley Jean Free, and she survives.
Larry was an Air Force veteran and a member of the East Chesterfield Christian Church. He belonged to the Prairie Gold and Minneapolis Moline Collectors groups, loved Studebaker automobiles, and was a Minnesota Vikings fan.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a dairy farmer for 25 years and also worked as an electrician for Sauder Woodworking in Archbold, Ohio.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Denise Barlow of San Antonio, Texas, and Pam (and Al) Dickson of Waldron, Mich.; one son, Arlen Barlow of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren, Aaron and Andrew Larson and Daneel Dickson; and a sister, La Donna Mason of Oklahoma City, Okla.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Laurence “Dean” Barlow; a sister, Ernestine Mathers; and two brothers, Lincoln and Clarence Barlow.
Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the East Chesterfield Christian Church, with Pastor Floyd Vincent officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. Interment will follow in Lyons Cemetery.
