John E. Marker, 100, of Waldron, Mich., died July 20, 2014, in Inverness, Fla.
John was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Harry E. and Nellie (Hicks) Marker. He married Mary Piriezky on July 8, 1936, in Toledo, and she preceded him in death Aug. 21, 1997.
John spent most of his career in the printing business, and retired from the Toledo Blade. He was a member of the Masons, and enjoyed camping, fishing and music.
John is survived by a son, Richard (and Mary) Marker of Inverness; two daughters, Mary Ann (and Grover) Ledyard of Alvordton, Ohio; and Janice (and Ron) Yinger of Inverness; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son, John L. “Jack” Marker, Jr.
Burial will take place in Toledo Memorial Park. There will be no public services. Arrangements were made by Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
