Alice J. Erbskorn, 86, of Toledo, Ohio, died May 26, 2014, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio.
Alice was born April 14, 1928, to Clair and Bessie (Schoonover) Heimbishner and grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Chesterfield High School in 1946. She then pursued secretarial work and soon married James J. Erbskorn.
Alice enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, needlework and crochet. After her children were grown, she worked at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Sears Roebuck in Toledo, where she and James made their home. Alice helped her husband operate his carpentry business, Erbskorn Builders, Inc.
Alice attended Sunday school at Canandaigua Church and as an adult worshipped at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo.
Alice is survived by four children, Larry (and Diana) Erbskorn, Michael Erbskorn, Keith (and Rose) Erbskorn and Cheryl (and Kenneth) Klein; a daughter-in-law, Linda Erbskorn; grandchildren, Erin Erbskorn, Angela (and Mike) Freeman, Jason Erbskorn, Jeremy Erbskorn and Amber (and Donnie) Maier; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona M. (and Harold) Keefer and Betty L. (and Dale) Glore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband.
A memorial service is planned at the Canandaigua Community Church from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
