Vaughn Robert Deline, 62, of Palo Alto, Calif., died May 30, 2014, following a short battle with cancer.
Vaughn was born Nov. 13, 1951, in Hudson Mich., to Josephine Leola (McVay) and Nelson Deline. He grew up in Medina Mich., and was a member of the Canandaigua Community Church. After graduating from Morenci High School, he earned a degree from Adrian College. He completed his post-graduate work at the top of his class at Illinois University where he received many honors. He then moved to the San Francisco Bay area where he eventually became a top researcher for IBM.
He was known as an amazing father with a kind and gentle soul. He loved the mountains and visiting the great wilderness areas of the country.
Vaughn is survived by his former wife, Charlotte Sue Slater; three sons, Matt, Jon (and Michelle) and Steven (and Alyssa) Deline; a sister Karen Kisner; a brother (Curtis) Reed (and Deb) Deline; sisters-in-law Janice Deline and Shirley Deline; and many nieces and nephews;
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers (Nelson) Dean and Royce Deline.
A gathering to share memories and celebrate Vaughn’s life is planned from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Adrian First Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Hall, Industrial Drive.
