Inez J. Potts, 88, of Fayette, Ohio, died March 29, 2014, at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born Aug. 22, 1925, in Cherryville, N.C., to the late Charlie and Essie (Dellinger) Crowder. She married Eldon Jay Potts on Dec. 19, 1945, in Cherryville, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1999.
Inez was a 1944 graduate of Cherryville High School. She was employed with Fayette Tubular Products for several years, and later retired from Millcreek-West Unity Schools, where she served as a cook for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the Fayette Christian Church-Disciples, the American Legion Auxiliary of John Dale Post #143, and the Fulton County Senior Center.
Inez is survived by three sons, Terry Potts (and fiancée Yvonne Spofford) of West Unity, Ohio, Gregory (and Monica) Potts of West Lafayette, Ind., and Brent Potts of Bryan, Ohio; a brother, John Crowder of Cove City, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Kathie Potts of Fremont, Ind.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence and Micheal; four sisters, Ruth Helms, Marie Dellinger, Ruby Benge, and Edna Crowder; three brothers, C.L., James, and Max Crowder; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Potts; and a granddaughter, Amanda Potts.
Funeral service are planned at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Rev. Gene Sugg officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
