James LaRoy Chittenden, 51, of Wauseon, Ohio, and formerly of Fayette, Ohio, died Feb. 11, 2014, at his home.
Jim was born June 22, 1962, in Morenci, Mich., to James and Joyce (Woodard) Chittenden. He married Shelley K. Rettle on Oct. 20, 1989, in Lyons, Ohio, and she survives.
Jim grew up in Morenci and graduated from Morenci Area High School in 1981. He worked for more than 21 years in environmental services at FUlton County Health Services in Wauseon, and for the past eight years worked for Haas Door Company. Jim was a co-leader of the Fayette Boy Scouts Troop #171 for several years. He enjoyed building various models and socializing with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, and his parents of Angola, Ind., Jim is survived by a son, Zachary Chittenden of Wauseon; a daughter, Maegan at home; a brother, Jeffrey (and Penny) Chittenden of Morenci; two sisters, Jamie (and Steve) Rigot of Buford, Ga., and Jana (and Devron) DeHart of Jefferson, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Audrey Woodard of Cape Neddick, Maine, and Marion Lemke of Kalkaska, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Ryan Eberly officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday.
