Kenneth D. Brown, 89, of Wauseon, Ohio, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Dover Township, Fulton County, Ohio, on April 13, 1918, the only son of the late Earl Brown and the late Nellie (Verity) Brown. He married Iris Eugenia Ernst on June 5, 1937, and she preceded him in death on July 15, 1996.
Kenneth worked an appliance repairman for Hammontree’s for 27 years, retiring in 1981. He was also employed as a custodian and boiler operator in Clinton Street High School and was engaged in farming.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Wauseon, since 1952. He became a Honorary FFA member in 1953 and was a original member of the local REACT CB organization. He was well known for his “one man band,” playing a variety of instruments and entertaining for many years.
Surviving is one daughter, Francita LaVal (and Delmer O.) Gasche, of Morenci, Mich; sister-in-law Pauline Cogan, of Wauseon; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
The funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, in Christ United Methodist Church, Wauseon with Pastor Hap Itson officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, County Road 11 Wauseon. Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday in the church.
